About the role:
NFU Mutual is recruiting an experienced Paraplanner to join the Financial Services Governance & Risk team on a full-time, permanent basis.

As Paraplanner, you’ll work closely with our successful and dedicated Financial Advisers playing a key role in shaping the future of our clients’ financial journeys – providing expert technical support, smart systems know-how, and trusted financial planning expertise to our advisers. You’ll help deliver a smooth, compliant, and efficient advice process that meets the highest NFU Mutual standards while keeping our clients at the heart of everything we do.
You’ll be responsible for writing comprehensive reports following meetings that have been held with customers and the Financial Advisers, ensuring that all advice and recommendations are clear and straightforward. You’ll critically assess the recommendations made by Financial Advisers, ensuring alignment with current guidance and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) rules, and are expected to question and challenge advisers to maintain high standards of advice.
Additionally, you’ll manage the Adviser Centre mailbox, handling queries from Financial Advisers, and provide coaching to new advisers, helping them understand processes and best practices. You’ll also analyse and support possible pension transfers to NFUM and cascade any changes in regulations, processes, or company policies to Financial Advisers.
The Paraplanner role is home-based, with quarterly team meetings at NFU Mutual’s Head Office in Stratford-upon-Avon. Additionally, you’ll likely spend more time at Head Office during training and induction in the early weeks so we can provide the best possible support as you get started.
Regulatory Information Certification
This role is subject to certification
Certification applies to key roles within the organisation that meet set criteria defined by our regulators. Certification is an internal process undertaken in line with regulatory requirements that is to be in place on appointment and annually thereafter.
Certified Function
This role is subject to certification for NFU Mutual Select Investments Ltd due to being identified as: Client Dealing, previously CF30 A person who performs the client-dealing certification function which involves any of the following activities: advising on investments and performing other functions related to this such as dealing and arranging.
Function Requiring Qualification
A person carrying out a role that requires a regulatory qualification as defined within the FCA Training & Competence (T&C) Sourcebook.
About you:
You must hold a Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning and have experience dealing with complex financial information within a regulated environment. A high level of attention to detail, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to multitask are essential. The role requires someone who is highly organised, analytical and be capable of making decisions.
You’ll be able to write clear, concise reports that are easy for customers to understand. Full training on our processes will be given.
