Are you passionate about supporting families and making a positive impact on the lives of children and parents? West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Parenting Coordinator to join our Family Hubs team, working in partnership with our Community and Public Health teams. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality parenting support services within the West Berkshire area.
The Role
As the Parenting Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering parenting support services, ensuring that the needs of families are met through effective intervention and guidance. You will work collaboratively with other professionals, such as Health Visitors, Family Support Workers and Early Help practitioners to provide comprehensive support to parents and carers.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Coordinating the delivery of parenting programmes, including Evidence Based Parenting Programmes such as Solihull Approach, Time out for Parents and Reducing Parental Conflict.
- Working directly with parents and carers to provide advice, guidance and support
- Collaborating with other services to ensure a holistic approach to supporting families
- Monitoring and evaluating the impact of parenting support interventions
- Providing information and advice to schools and other professionals regarding parenting issues
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Experience in delivering parenting support and intervention
- Strong knowledge of child development and effective parenting practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with parents, carers, and professionals
- Organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate service delivery
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, demonstrating collaboration and partnership working
Please note this role is fixed term for two years from start date - Funding limited project
