About The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised person to join the Engineering Services Team and assist with the management and delivery of the parking service.
Your Key Duties Will Be
- Design and implementation of parking restriction schemes
- Organising maintenance of existing parking signs and lines
- Dealing with parking related enquiries by email and phone
- Administration related to Traffic Regulation Orders and Permit Parking Schemes
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Awareness and understanding of parking related matters such as civil parking enforcement, parking controls and other transportation related issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to convey complex or technical information clearly and diplomatically to a range of audiences
- A pro-active attitude and a customer-focused mindset, using feedback to enhance service delivery and consistently advocating for excellent customer care
- Ability to analyse data and produce practical solutions and proposals
- A high standard of computer literacy, competent in the use of spreadsheets and databases, and be able to learn how to use various software such as parking permit management system or AutoCAD
- A full UK Driving Licence and be willing occasionally to attend sites out of hours for inspections or meetings
- Ability to work outdoors when required to carry out inspections, surveys or minor maintenance tasks
- A knowledge of best practice in procuring works
- Understanding of or be able to learn parking signs and lines maintenance related operations and appropriate legislation such as the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 or the Traffic Signs Manual
- Awareness of Traffic Regulation Order procedure and legislation such as The Local Authorities' Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 or The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
