Description

Role: Junior Group Accountant

Salary: £45,000-£50,000 base plus bonus

This is a great role for someone part-way through their accounting qualification and is looking for a broad finance role where they can progress within the team quickly and take on further responsibility as they develop.

The business is a FinTech firm with over 100 staff, headquartered in London. As part of a small finance team of 4, you will report into a very personable and experienced Financial Controller who you can learn from.

The role will take on a wide range of responsibilities ranging from AP and AR to supporting the preparation of Financial Statements. They are looking for someone who is adaptable and willing to pick up a wide range of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Process all AP and AR transactions
Pivotal role in month end close procedures
Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Preparation of monthly VAT returns (lodged by external advisors)
Maintain fixed asset register
Perform bank reconciliations and assist in the group treasury function

Supporting the Group Accountant in the preparation of Financial Statements and disclosures

Supporting the annual statutory audit process

Support external tax advisors in tax compliance matters

Support external advisors in the preparation of the annual R&D tax claim

Work with the wider finance team to increase efficiency and accuracy of existing finance processes

Co-ordinate the continuous improvement of the financial process and control landscape

Support the Group Accountant with ad-hoc projects as required
