What We’re Looking For
Adult Learning Lewisham requires an experienced part time art tutor to join the Art, Pottery and Performing Arts team. We are looking for a tutor able to cover established art classes and also to expand our provision through introducing new, exciting classes to our programme based on their skills and experience.
We are specifically looking for an art tutor to teach general drawing and painting though applicants with specialisms in art history, watercolour, botanical illustration or any other art discipline are welcome. The day and time of any classes are negotiable and dependent on room availability throughout the year. Classes usually run for 5 or 10 weeks per term, with individual sessions of 2hrs in duration. Some 1 day workshops are also available each term.

The post requires a tutor who can:
- Deliver all aspects of practical drawing and painting to classes of up to 12 adult learners of varying ages, backgrounds and abilities (from complete beginners through to improvers of all levels)
- Plan & produce course documentation to support their teaching & learning – for example; scheme of work, lesson plan, electronic registers and developing resources for the course online learning environment
- Support the learners to achieve the set course & individual learning goals and complete their online individual learning plan (E-ILP)
- Regularly attend tutor meetings and complete CPD
We are looking for a reliable conscientious and dedicated tutor who preferably has experience of working in an adult environment and has qualification to at least level 4 as well as having or be willing to work towards achieving a recognised teaching qualification (e.g.Cert Ed/PGCE). The successful applicant must be prepared to work at any of our centres.
