THE ROLE
Altus Partners is delighted to be partnering with a leading UK-focused growth capital investor to appoint a Partner to its investment team. With an established track record of success, the firm specialises in deploying £100 million of initial capital into real asset companies, offering follow-on flexibility. The firm provides a distinctive investment approach, backing businesses with operational potential and enhancing growth through flexible capital structures and strategic, hands-on support.
This is a rare opportunity to join at the Partner level, taking a senior role in sourcing and executing new investments, building strategic relationships with management teams, engaging with investors, and helping to shape the platform’s growth and capital base.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The role includes but is by no means limited to the following:
Deal Origination & Execution
- Lead the sourcing, diligence, and execution of investments in UK operating businesses.
- Design and structure creative investments tailored to unique business needs.
Value Creation & Portfolio Oversight
- Partner with management teams to build scalable platforms, execute roll-up strategies, and optimise operations.
- Take an active role in board-level engagement and portfolio strategy.
- Align interests through thoughtful structuring and management incentives.
Fundraising & Investor Relations
- Work closely with the senior team on fundraising initiatives, including investor engagement for current funds.
- Represent the platform to new and existing LPs, clearly articulating the strategy, track record, and opportunities for partnership.
Strategic Leadership
- Influence the evolution of the firm’s investment thesis and market positioning.
- Contribute to firmwide leadership and cultural stewardship across the team.
- Identify and pursue sector themes and macro trends aligned with long-term value creation.
EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Experience: Significant experience in UK growth equity investing, ideally with exposure to growth capital, structured equity, or special situations credit.
- Track Record: Demonstrated success in sourcing, structuring, and managing deals to exit (Track record will be requested)
- Commercial Acumen: Ability to spot attractive market dynamics such as fragmented sectors, regulatory moats, and barriers to entry.
- Fundraising Experience: Familiarity with institutional fundraising and customised investor solutions
- Leadership: Proven ability to drive deals and strategy while inspiring teams and managing key relationships.
