Lloyd’s Register Maritime Decarbonisation Hub

Location: London (hybrid, fixed term for 2 years with possibility for permanent)

The Lloyd’s Register Maritime Decarbonisation Hub (MDH) is a LR Foundation funded programme with the purpose of accelerating the decarbonisation of the maritime sector. This is achieved through providing evidence-based insight to enable informed decision making and building partnerships to unlock barriers in transition pathways to innovate and demonstrate routes to scale. The Hub produces research, evidence-based insight for stakeholders in the maritime ecosystem including government and finance, covering sustainability in everything from energy sources to onboard low carbon technologies

What We’re Looking For

The Partnerships Manager plays a central role in advancing the Hub’s mission by collaboratively identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships that support the delivery and scaling of our programme and evidence work. Working closely with both programme and evidence teams, the postholder will ensure that partnerships are aligned to our Theory of Change and responsive to evolving opportunities in the maritime decarbonisation ecosystem. This role also supports the Hub’s wider external engagement efforts and ensures that intelligence from partnership activities feeds back into internal learning and strategic decision-making.

The role

  • Work closely with the programme and evidence teams to identify, develop and manage strategic partnerships with stakeholders across the maritime ecosystem, including industry, finance, academia and government, ensuring alignment with the Hub’s mission, Theory of Change and priority themes
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of joint initiatives and collaborations with partners, and to the identification of opportunities for scaling the impact, influence and profile of the Hub.
  • Manage the administration of the partnership agreements, including contracting, handling of cash and in-kind contributions, etc
  • Coordinate relationship management systems and ensure partnership activity is documented, tracked and evaluated.
  • Support the development and delivery of external engagement activities, including workshops, roundtables, and stakeholder briefings.
  • Prepare presentations, briefing materials and insight summaries for external audiences and senior leadership.
  • Stay informed of developments and opportunities in the maritime and climate ecosystem that align with the Hub’s strategic goals.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, impact-oriented team culture and support colleagues across engagement and evidence functions.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in international relations, business, sustainability, maritime studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ professional experience in stakeholder engagement, partnerships, programme delivery or business development
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience building and maintaining external relationships.
  • Ability to work across technical and non-technical teams and translate strategic goals into partnership activity.
  • Understanding of or interest in the maritime, climate, sustainability or innovation sectors.
