Join Ipsen as Patient Advocacy and Communications Manager

Ipsen is seeking a passionate and strategic communicator to lead patient advocacy and portfolio communications across the UK & Ireland. This role is central to ensuring the patient voice is embedded in our commercial and market access strategies, while also shaping impactful internal and external communications.
About The Role,
Key Responsibilities
Patient Advocacy & Communications
- Lead patient advocacy initiatives for priority brands, supporting disease awareness and education.
- Collaborate with franchise teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-impact campaigns.
- Build strong relationships with patient advocacy groups and professional organisations.
- Design and deliver external communications aligned with HTA/regulatory milestones and data opportunities.
- Manage media relations, press materials, and news content.
- Prepare senior leaders for media engagement, including briefings and training.
Corporate & Functional Communications
- Align UK/I communications with global priorities.
- Create compelling internal and external news content to enhance Ipsen’s reputation.
- Ensure UK/I visibility across Ipsen’s corporate social media channels.
- Maintain corporate materials including key messages, Q&As, presentations, and web content.
General Communications Support
- Support ad hoc internal projects requiring communications expertise.
- Shape leadership communications for town halls, media interviews, and strategic updates.
- Ensure all activities comply with Ipsen’s ethics and code of conduct.

You are a purpose-driven communicator with a deep understanding of healthcare and a passion for amplifying the patient voice. You bring a strategic mindset and hands-on experience in patient advocacy, corporate communications, and stakeholder engagement. You’ve led initiatives that don’t just inform - they inspire, educate, and drive meaningful change.
Basic Requirements
- Degree in Business, Humanities, Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years in communications roles with exposure to corporate and brand communications.
- Experience in healthcare, industry, or agency settings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage projects and work within a matrix organisation.
- Media and social media platform experience.
- Stakeholder management and influence without authority.
- Multi-channel communication strategy development.
- Insight generation for business planning.
- Advanced written and oral communication in English.
Preferred Requirements
- Formal project management training.
- Experience in relevant disease areas (oncology, neurosciences, rare diseases).
- Familiarity with UK healthcare environment and ABPI/IPHA codes of practice.
- Media training certification.
