Job Overview

We are looking for a Patient and Public Involvement Lead to join the Clinical Services Transformation Team, being supported by the Experience of Care teams at NBT and UHBW.
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong and demonstrable record of working with people and communities and an understanding of the important role experts by experience play as partners in designing and delivering care.

Main duties of the job
To lead the Bristol NHS Group’s approach to working with people and communities in the context of the delivery of the Joint Clinical Strategy
To integrate the involvement of patients, carers and community partners who have lived experience in the development of Group Clinical Services in line with the Joint Clinical Strategy.
To develop, grow and evaluate the impact of the newly formed Community Participation Group, ensuring patient and community voice shapes the formation of Bristol NHS Group and local hospital services.

- Masters-level qualification in a subject related to qualitative research or equivalent job-based experience
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Substantial experience of successfully planning and implementing community events within budget
- Experience of successfully influencing behaviour and organisational culture
- At least three years’ experience in a role with a significant community stakeholder-relations element
- Experience of working with senior managers and Executives at an advisory level
- A thorough understanding of why working in partnership with people in communities is essential to delivering high quality healthcare
- Significant practical experience of the use and application of patient involvement and coproduction methodologies
- An understanding of relevant legislation and best practice guidance relating to patient involvement / coproduction
Desirable criteria
- Experience of managing projects
- Extensive experience of facilitating focus groups in sensitive situations
Skills And Abilities
Essential criteria
- Ability to work on several projects at once, to tight timescales, prioritising work appropriately
