Job Title: Patient Engagement Team Lead

St Pancras Clinical Research (SPCR) is looking to recruit an experienced Patient Engagement Team Lead to join our dynamic team.

About St Pancras Clinical Research

Established in 2016, St Pancras Clinical Research is a UK-based Site Management Organisation with a UK wide setup. We conduct Phase Ib-IV clinical trials with new medicines, for patients with various chronic diseases. Our therapeutic focus is mainly CNS (neurological, cognitive, psychiatric, pain), as well as diabetes, kidney disease and dermatology.

The Patient Engagement Team is responsible for all aspects of pre-screening, leading to the delivery of high quality leads for our recruiting studies. The Team Lead will manage the pre-screening processes per recruiting trial and is accountable for ensuring screening (and randomisation) targets are met monthly, reporting directly to the Head of Business Operations.

Responsibilities

Patient Engagement Responsibilities

• Manage pre-screening process for all recruiting trials including ensuring pipeline of potential screens is of good quality and leads are being processed efficiently.
• Act as a point of escalation for pre-screening issues, ensuring corrective actions are implemented, with support of Head of Business Operations and Chief Scientific Officer.
• Maintain in depth knowledge of relevant trial protocols, GCP, and all regulatory requirements.
• Perform pre-screening calls as required as part of the team.
• Responsible for ensuring screening targets are met each month and for problem-solving when targets are not met.
• Developing strategies for successful recruitment per trial, focusing on the target population and deliverable timeframe to ensure targets are met.
• Setting up recruitment processes and administrative aspects for new recruiting trials.
• Responsible for database management and pre-screening data quality control.

Team Management

• Provide leadership, management, and support to the Patient Engagement Team to ensure smooth delivery of pre-screening activities on all recruiting trials at SPCR.
• Responsible for resource allocation and administrative tasks distribution.
• Line manage team based across the sites (5-15 people), conduct performance reviews, and provide mentoring, training, and support.
• Handle all aspect of training for new and existing team members.
• Foster a positive team culture, motivating and empowering staff to deliver high-quality work.
• Recognise and reward good performance, and address HR queries in collaboration with the Head of HR.

Engagement & Development

• Lead team meetings, represent SPCR professionally to internal and external stakeholders, and strengthen community engagement.
• Drive continuous improvement, implementing best practices across the site.
• Support company-wide initiatives and contribute to SPCR’s patient-centric mission.
• Be willing to travel nationally for business needs.

Requirements

• Patient-centric approach to clinical and research practice.
• Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
• IT literate – proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience managing a team in a healthcare facility, clinic, or research site (2+ years)
• Extensive experience performing pre-screening activities in a research setting (3+ years).
• Be able to commute to the site location - London.
