Job Description
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Payments Analyst to join our growing European Finance Shared Service Centre on a Fixed Term Contract for maternity cover.
You’ll be part of a collaborative team that sits within our Global Finance Organisation, focused on delivering an excellent internal customer experience. In this role, you’ll play a key part in managing employee Travel & Expenses processes and supporting Sage’s fast-paced growth by ensuring our financial operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in line with business strategy.
This position is ideal for someone with a background in finance—particularly in Travel and Expenses—who enjoys working with people, handling high-volume transactions, and contributing to process improvement. If you’re looking for a role where accuracy, service, and collaboration matter, this could be a great fit for you.
This role is hybrid, based in our Newcastle office, 3 days a week.
What You’ll Be Doing:
A key part of your role will involve processing employee Travel & Expenses claims, ensuring everything is completed on time and in accordance with company policy. You’ll regularly audit and review expense submissions to maintain compliance and accuracy, and you’ll help resolve any queries by monitoring our internal support platform.
You’ll also take the lead in supporting employees through training—whether that’s face-to-face or via Teams—helping both new and existing users feel confident in using our expense tools and systems. Managing corporate credit card applications and handling changes to credit limits will also fall under your responsibility.
As part of maintaining financial accuracy, you’ll complete balance sheet reconciliations and monthly controls to help minimise business risk. You’ll also keep track of GRNI (Goods Received Not Invoiced) and play an active role in documenting and reviewing internal processes to ensure they’re clear and up to date.
Collaboration & Problem Solving:
This is a collaborative role where you'll be working with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels. You’ll take ownership of resolving user access or system issues and offer practical solutions to help keep things moving. You’ll also be expected to contribute your ideas to improve or automate processes—your insights will be valued as part of our continuous improvement culture.
In addition, you’ll be involved in exciting projects that support the adoption of new technologies and business tools. From early-stage involvement to successful implementation, you’ll help ensure that any changes land smoothly and are aligned with business needs.
What You’ll Bring:
You’re confident using Microsoft Office tools and platforms like Teams and Power BI, and you’re able to manage your time and workload effectively. You’re a natural problem solver, with strong communication skills and the ability to present ideas clearly and professionally.
You're comfortable working in a fast-changing environment and can adapt quickly to shifting priorities. If you’re excited about supporting change, building strong working relationships, and contributing to a high-performing team, we’d love to hear from you.
