About the role:
We are currently looking for a Part-Time (up to 22.5 hours per week) Payroll Administrator to join our Finance team. We pride ourselves on a dynamic, stimulating, and enjoyable work environment that delivers real value to our clients.
The right candidate will need to be driven, highly organised and proactive with an acute level of attention to detail. We are considering bringing back inhouse the Payroll from an external service provider and this role will be pivotal to the smooth running of that process.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the end-to-end process for payroll ensuring the accurate and timely collation and input of payroll data into the payroll system (Sage Payroll)
- Manage the processing of starters and leavers through payroll, ensuring accurate statutory deductions. Pro-rated calculations for starters, leavers and any other changes.
- Applying and calculation of all relevant Statutory Payments such as Statutory Sick Pay, Statutory Maternity Pay, Statutory Parental Leave.
- Monthly reconciliation/checking of payroll
- Preparation of the payroll journal for review by FIN
- Production of management information and reports, using Excel to an advanced level
- Full administration of the Heyne Tillet Steel Pension scheme
- Ensure full compliance with HMRC regulation & liaising with HMRC accordingly.
- Knowledge of HMRC document processes: P45, starter checklist, P6, P60, Student Loan deductions etc
- Support all internal and external audits related to payroll
- Annual P11D and PSA reporting assisting by Finance
- Administer the Salary Sacrifice schemes and other benefits
- Serve as the first point of contact on all employee queries related to payroll, pensions etc.
- Assist with required ONS surveys monthly / quarterly as needed
- Assist the internal Finance team with audit and statutory submissions where required
- Assist with Gender Pay Gap reporting each year
- Quarterly Timesheet analysis
- Drafting and preparation of annual benefits summary, salary and bonus review communications with HR/FIN.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience using SAGE Payroll is mandatory.
- A desire to improve processes and efficiency and enhance the effectiveness of current software.
- 10+ years prior experience and/or currently studying ACIPP is preferable.
