Your mission
We are seeking an experienced Test Manager to lead the testing workstream within the Payroll Programme. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, reliable payroll operations through the implementation of a robust and risk-based testing strategy. The Test Manager will be responsible for defining the test strategy, approach, scoping the required test coverage, managing the test cycles, and ensuring defects are tracked and resolved.
Key Responsibilities

o Define the overall test approach, including entry/exit criteria, types of testing (e.g., unit, system, integration, user acceptance), environments, and tools.
o Identify and document the end-to-end business scenarios to be validated across HR, Time, Payroll, Finance, and Reporting.
o Determine the required volume and structure of test scripts to ensure comprehensive coverage.
o Define test data requirements and coordinate with the data migration and business teams for provisioning.
• Test Execution Management
o Manage and coordinate test cycles (System Integration Testing, Payroll Parallel Runs, UAT, Regression Testing).
o Lead test script development and coordinate execution with internal teams and third-party vendors.
o Monitor progress, ensure adherence to timelines, and proactively address delays or issues.
o Ensure test evidence is captured, defects are logged, prioritised, tracked, and retested as appropriate.
• Stakeholder Management
o Work closely with the Payroll SMEs, Business Process Owners, HR, IT, and vendor teams to ensure alignment and clarity on testing responsibilities.
o Facilitate test planning workshops and daily/weekly status updates during test execution.
o Support business stakeholders during UAT and ensure readiness for go-live.
• Quality & Risk Management
o Identify testing risks and dependencies early, proposing mitigation strategies to minimise impact.
o Champion quality assurance throughout the lifecycle, promoting continuous improvement of testing practices.
Who are we looking for?
• Proven experience as a Test Manager or similar role in a large-scale Payroll implementation.
• Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing test strategies for complex, integrated systems.
