We are seeking a proactive and dedicated
Generalist (People Advisor / Specialist) to join our People Team. This role is a fantastic opportunity to gain broad exposure across the employee lifecycle while supporting day-to-day employee relations and People processes. You will be the first point of contact for employees on policy queries, general advice and junior employee relations support.

You will be the first point of contact for employees on policy queries, general advice and junior employee relations support.
What we expect from you as a Generalist (People Advisor / Specialist):
Employee Lifecycle
- Provide generalist employee support. Advising on all areas of the employee lifecycle. This will cover general queries from employees such as: leave policies, parental leave, employee relations processes etc.
- Support on the existing onboarding process and manage any onboarding queries.
- Advise on People Policies as a first line support for queries. Assist in new policy research and generation with support from the People Partnering team.
- Reviewing policies annually to ensure they are in line with any legislation updates or Company changes.
- Drive consistency in people practices and policy application across the organisation
- Supporting the People Operations team to maintain accurate and confidential People records and contribute to People reporting as needed
Continuous Improvement
- Consistently looking for improved ways of working both within the Partnering team and how the People team interacts with the business. For example, Automation opportunities, employee self service and line manager interactions.
- Regular research into AI tools that may be able to assist in enabling this role to work more efficiently.
- Learning and Development. Assist the partnering team in delivering training initiatives. This includes scoping out training required, assisting in training content creation and shadowing content delivery. Using data to drive insights on training topics and format for delivery.
Employee Relations
- This role will have a lot of exposure to employee relations processes. Supporting line managers with policy and procedure advice. This will include supporting on: performance management, probation processes, investigations, grievances etc.
- Support will range from advising managers, supporting the Partnering team with more complex cases and some note taking and administration as a case moves forward.
- Support line managers through the first stages of employee relations processes and advise on cases before they reach the formal stage.
- Real opportunity to balance the coordination of the role with gaining exposure to business areas and building relationships with line managers.
- Completing regular reporting on cases including time to close and outcomes with costings included.
- Build strong working relationships across the business to understand needs and provide excellent employee support
Project Support
- Assist in small-scale projects to support the Partnering team.
- Building great relationships across the wider people team and business
- Working closely with the People Operations and Talent teams to deliver cross functional projects hitting deliverable deadlines.
About you:
- Experience in a generalist People role, ideally including employee relations and advisory work
- Solid understanding of employment law and people best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations confidentially and professionally
- Technically competent - comfortable adopting and learning new tools and technologies, including Al-powered solutions, with the ability to assess, implement and optimise systems that enhance People team effectiveness and employee engagement.
- A great relationship builder
- Comfortable working independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in a changing environment maintaining confidentiality and support for stakeholders.
- Data centric - comfortable summarising large quantities of data and presenting key insights.
- Collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn and grow within the People function
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering a high-quality employee experience
We would be particularly excited if you have:
- Proven experience in employee relations and advisory work within a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with People systems and reporting tools, ideally HiBob.
- Confidence in managing confidential information and complex employee queries
