Brief Description
Route Services is a division of Network Rail that provides the Routes with services so they can help Network Rail deliver a better railway for a better Britain. We support the Routes with a myriad of services and supplies they need to maintain and operate the railway. See the diagram for a breakdown of our services. This role sits within
Supply Chain Operations (SCO), an area of the business which supplies and delivers the logistics, materials, components, rail and road fleet that enable the maintenance and renewal of the railway.
SCO keeps the materials, machinery and components required by its customers moving – making sure they are on-site when needed so work can go ahead as planned and on schedule. Watch our video Working in Supply Chain Operations

About The Role (External)
In this role, you’ll support the business by providing timely and accurate performance analysis which helps to make appropriate decisions and deliver business improvement. You’ll support with generating and validating performance data and tracking performance targets, alongside improving models and tools used to understand performance.
Additionally, you’ll support the team with the day-to-day central focus for performance improvement procedures and processes, as well as validating data in reports and Application for Payments.
Preferably, you'll have experience of NROL, Business Objects and Power BI.
Key accountabilities include:
- Support and liaise with relevant business partners in the analysis of business opportunities.
- Collate all performance data so that there is data integrity and accuracy.
- Draw conclusions from the analysis and present the information as appropriate to assist in decision making.
- Select, develop and use tools appropriate to the complexity of the problem in order to complete analysis.
- Investigate, source data and any additional input needed to support the business.
- Assist in the identification and implementation of quality and efficiency improvements.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following criteria:
Essential
- Ability to analyse complex data from diverse sources.
- Ability to present written and numeric data clearly.
- Knowledge of analytical tools and techniques.
- Ability to prioritise work requirements for maximum efficiency.
- Highly developed Microsoft Office skills.
- Good communication skills and a customer focussed approach.

Vacancy type: This role is permanent.
Location: This position is based at The Quadrant, Milton Keynes (3 days per week in the office). O ccasional travel for supplier meetings as required.
Hours: 35 hours per week.
Salary range: £30,000 to 38,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

Drugs and Alcohol Standard:
