Brief Description
An exciting and fast paced role supporting the Liverpool Infrastructure Maintenance Engineer area to achieve its KPI targets for both Merseyrail and the surrounding areas.
The Performance & Assurance role is key to safety, assurance and performance and will involve (but not limited to):
- Supporting with reattribution of service affecting failure
- Collation of performance improvement plans across all KPIs
- Carrying our various assurance exercises across the engineering disciplines.
- Supporting the IME/IMDM and the wider DU with business reporting and upcoming audits.
About The Role (External)
Every day will be different, but you can expect to be involved in the following activities:
You will support performance, compliance, and continuous improvement across our operations. In this role, you'll monitor assurance activities such as staff surveillance, work quality, and asset condition, producing regular reports and identifying trends that inform management decisions.
You'll track asset performance, reliability, and productivity, using data to recommend improvements that enhance efficiency. You'll also manage the full lifecycle of Non-Conformance and Non-Compliance processes, ensuring timely resolution and accurate documentation.
Supporting investigations into incidents and performance issues will be part of your responsibilities, helping to identify root causes and drive corrective actions. Additionally, you'll monitor business improvement initiatives, reporting on progress and highlighting opportunities for further development.
In order to be successful in this role, we would like you to have/to be:
- Knowledge of engineering discipline
- Knowledge of maintenance delivery processes and techniques
- Knowledge of assurance and compliance processes
- Knowledge of relevant standards and procedures
- Knowledge of investigation processes and techniques
- Good analytical skills
- Good interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisation skills
We would also like but it isn't crucial to have/to be:
- Good knowledge of railway operating rules and regulations
- Good risk assessment/loss control knowledge
- Knowledge of asset reliability improvement and monitoring techniques
- Auditor qualification

Salary and benefits:
- Salary: Starting at £35,582 and increasing to £42,218
- Pro-rata annual leave entitlement (28 days contract dependant)
