Purpose
To deliver our business plan to 2030, we need to ensure our business processes are scalable and resilient to deliver our business growth in a commercially competitive marketplace.
This role within the Onshore Renewables team provides an exciting opportunity to lead, inspire and develop the transition to optimise businesses planning and reporting onto a digital platform.
The key vision for this role is to lead and develop project reporting, insight and governance through the project lifecycle from feasibility through to operations including data analytics and resource impacts.
The business is currently transitioning to an Agile way of working therefore this role will be key to promote continuous improvement, data capture and storage to support assured management information for the CEO and leadership team on our growth journey to 2030 and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop project reporting and governance regimes through the project lifecycle from feasibility to operational handover on a digital platform eg MS Project Plan, Jira
- Provide data analytics on pipeline and project lifecycle data to meet various business demands
- Develop a robust and assured data set for reporting of project lifecycle through Development and Construction phases of a project to the leadership team on a regular basis
- Present and communicate project pipeline/lifecycle data in a format to suit various audiences
- Challenge and scrutiny of project data from project teams
- Support implementation of Agile/ Scrum/ Kanban through leading by example
- Lead on the development and delivery of a Transformation programme for the Renewables business that will see the growth of the Onshore pipeline through to 2030
- Lead on driving forward the change from traditional ways of working, where has been task-oriented, to one where Analytics is a key driver of projects and is a strategic unit within Renewables
- Develop a data and analytics strategy for the SP Renewables business, identifying opportunities for analytics and insights to add value to the business
- Define and implement a long-term roadmap for analytics within Renewables, using influencing skills to gain commitment from senior leaders
- Lead analytics projects, or project workstreams, identifying the most appropriate use of analytics and insights to achieve project objectives
- Undertake analysis, provide insights and make recommendations that will enable business leaders to make long-term strategic decisions (e.g. analysis, service improvements)
- Establish Analytics as a centre of excellence and reputable point of contact for the delivery of solutions to business, strategic and operational challenges as well as for guidance, advice and effective resolution to all data and analytics issues
Skills And Requirements
- Educated to degree level or equivalent and/or equivalent business experience in Data Science/Analytics
- Experience of Data Analytics and Data Science to recognise the value it can offer to growing businesses to drive change and influence
- Demonstrated ability to explore the full potential of Microsoft Fabric tools
- Experience of identifying and interpreting business needs from digital solutions to deliver smarter ways of working
- Experience of implementing digital solutions i.e. project management tools
- Experience of delivering business change solutions or transformation programmes
- Ability to challenge the status quo, driving continuous improvement
- Experience of developing project reporting and governance models across multi-disciplinary projects
- Significant experience of using project reporting tools such as MS Project Plan, Power BI, Jira or equivalent
- Strong commercial awareness
- Data storytelling- able to communicate effectively using data presentation
- Track record of effective stakeholder engagement Senior Manager using analytical/data sources or insights to inform decision making
- Be able to manage conflicting priorities to ensure timescales are met
- Understanding of SAP financial system to support Project Services activities
- Expectation is that SME will coach and upskill wider team members on agile practices
To be successful in a role you will need to demonstrate as minimum:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent business experience
- Knowledge of project delivery programme and support services
- Experience of business change and business improvement initiatives to successful deliver (Project Management, leadership and communication skills)
- Evidence of effective communication skills
- Experience of influencing cross-functional teams
- Experience of Power BI or equivalent reporting tools
