Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
The Perioperative Anaemia Service is seeking an experienced nurse, able to use critical thinking and expert decision making in order to identify, treat and optimise patients for surgery.

To work as an independent Practitioner under the supervision of the Senior Nurse Practitioner / Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Designated Medical Practitioner (DMP).
Undertaking competency-based patient assessment and examination in order to formulate a management plan for specific groups of patients admitted to UHS for diagnosis and / or treatment
Undertake all preparatory work prior to the patient undergoing treatment or diagnosis which may include consent, request of any further investigations and to highlight any potential complications to the Advanced Nurse Practitioner or relevant medical colleague.
Ability to travel. The service is based at Lymington New Forest Hospital but on occasions, the service might need to be run at Southampton General Hospital.

- Registered Nurse
- Degree or working towards within relevant specialty or an equivalent level of experience
Desirable criteria
- Venepuncture
- Cannulation
- History taking clinical assessment course
- Mentorship qualification
Previous or relevant experience necessary
Essential criteria
- Experience across a range of surgical specialties
- Experience of preoperative patient pathways
Desirable criteria
- Experience of administering intravenous iron preparations
