An opportunity has arisen to appoint for a Personnel Assistant/Administrator to support the Lead Nurse for Research and Development and Research Matron Team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The Lead Nurse has professional responsibility for Clinical Research Nurses employed in the Trust through the Research Matron Team.
The post holder will provide assistance to the Lead Nurse including diary management and provide a pivotal role in supporting the Lead Nurse to manage a busy work schedule.
The post holder will also provide administrative support to the Research Matron Team, as required. The post holder will be based in the NIHR Sheffield Clinical Research Facility (CRF) and develop close links with the Clinical Research and Innovation Office (CRIO).
To provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to support and assist the Lead Nurse and Research Matron Team
To develop, maintain and review efficient and effective administrative systems to support the Lead Nurse
To act as a first point of contact for the Lead Nurse, and Research Matron team, dealing with, or referring as appropriate, internal and external enquiries in an efficient and professional manner, verbally and by email, prioritising as required
To participate in ad hoc projects as they arise, taking responsibility for specific areas as appropriate.

The NIHR Sheffield Clinical Research Facility is a joint venture between the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Use of the facility is available to all clinical researchers and provides a specialist environment for the conduct of high-quality clinical research. The CRF staff, both clinical and non-clinical, work with investigators to ensure research carried out in the CRF is of the highest possible standard and adheres to Research Governance and the Regulatory Framework.
The CRF is based across the two main acute sites of the Trust, the Royal Hallamshire Hospital (RHH) and the Northern General Hospital (NGH). Both sites provide access to highly skilled research nurse and admin support to Investigators across all clinical areas.
