Job Overview
We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and conscientious pharmacy dispensers to join our busy hospital pharmacy team. Previous hospital experience would be beneficial but not essential as full training will be given.
Applications are welcomed from candidates who do not possess the the NVQ Level 2 (relevant units) in Pharmacy Service Skills/Pharmaceutical Sciences but will be paid at Band 3 Annexe 21 rate until they have achieved the required qualifications and experience.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a pharmacy support worker to join our friendly pharmacy team at Ysbyty Gwynedd.
The post holder will be required to assist with the dispensing and supply of medication as well as the receipt, processing, storage and stock control of medicines in the pharmacy department and on wards in the hospital. Duties also include supporting other areas of pharmacy at ward level supporting the ward based pharmacy teams.
If you are a proactive, organised team player we’d love to hear from you. This post would suit somebody with a hospital pharmacy background, or with community pharmacy experience wishing to make a move into the hospital environment. All training will be provided.
You must have either successfully achieved the relevant units of pharmacy services skills NVQ level 2 (QCF) or the relevant units of a GPhC accredited training programme of equivalent level to pharmacy service skills NVQ level 2 (QCF).
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential Criteria
- GCSE maths and English language to Grade C or equivalent NVQ Level 2 (relevant units) in Pharmacy Service Skills/Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent or gain in agreed time frame.
- Skills , knowledge and experience equivalent to level 3 NVQ or gain in agreed timeframe
- Good numeracy and literacy skills including; calculations, percentages, decimal, fractions
