Pharmacy Technician - Cancer & Aseptics (Band 4 to 5 Progression)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technician to join our growing and forward-thinking Pharmacy Aseptic Services Department at MKUH.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our team. We have an engaged workforce who foster an excellent quality and open culture, and were recently recognised as the MKUH Trust Team of the Year for 2025.
We are looking for individuals ready to start or continue their careers in a pharmacy aseptic unit environment, where the post holder will assist in the supervision and training of staff, and dispense, compound and source cytotoxic products for cancer patients.
To be eligible to join us in this role you will have successfully completed an NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services and hold current registration with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician. Alternatively, you may hold a Science Manufacturing Technician qualification at level 3, and be registered as an RSciTech with the Science Council. This post is open to all registered Technicians both newly qualified and experienced, wishing to work in an NHS pharmacy aseptic unit.

- Responsible for assisting the Senior Technicians with co-ordinating staffing arrangements for the Aseptic Service and to ensure appropriate skill mix and technical staff allocation throughout the department.
- To be aware and follow all departmental operating procedures and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidance at all times, to ensure the quality of products provided to patients.
- To aseptically prepare products within the aseptic facilities, dispense medications for patients, and maintain high environmental standards and levels of accuracy.
