We’re looking for an experienced, forward-thinking pharmacist to lead workforce transformation across one of the UK’s largest NHS Trusts.
As Pharmacy Workforce Planning and Transformation Lead, you’ll shape the future of pharmacy education, training, and career development. Based at the Royal London Hospital, this senior role supports strategic workforce planning across Barts Health and the wider Integrated Care System (ICS).
You’ll lead the delivery of a clear workforce vision aligned with national priorities such as the NHS People Plan. Working with internal and external partners—including HEE, universities, ICS colleagues, and regulatory bodies—you’ll help develop a modern, flexible, and patient-centred pharmacy workforce.

[email protected]- To work collaboratively with key stakeholders within Barts Health, the East London Integrated Care System (ICS), Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and wider organisations to develop and deliver a clear strategy and vision for the transformation of the pharmacy workforce. With the aim of recruiting and retaining pharmacy professionals through developing and offering innovative approaches to patient centred care and training experiences.
- To provide oversight and assurance for the delivery of pharmacy workforce transformation and development.
- To be responsible for providing effective professional leadership and expert advice to the pharmacy department and to individual hospital based pharmacy education and training teams/staff in order to ensure the department provides a safe, efficient, standardised service that meets the needs of patients and local stakeholders
- To implement and evaluate clear development frameworks for all members of the pharmacy team, from pharmacy assistants and administrative staff to senior clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
- To ensure the delivery of a high-quality training experience for trainee pharmacy professionals at Barts Health in line with GPhC and NHSE requirements.
- To act as the Health Education, North Central & East London (HENCEL) Pharmacy Education Programme Director for Trainee Pharmacists.
