Job Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and diligent Administrative Support Officer. The role is based within the MSK Outpatient Physiotherapy Department at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr. We require someone who has excellent administrative and clerical skills to become a member of this dynamic team. You will work directly with the Administration Lead and work closely with the local Physiotherapy Team Leaders, but will also need to demonstrate the ability to prioritise your own workload and show initiative.

Main duties of the job

You will be a strong team player with excellent communication skills. An excellent telephone manner is vital as the post holder will have direct contact with parents/carers and health professionals. Due to the area you will be working in, the post holder would need to demonstrate compassion and a good understanding around possible complex or safeguarding situations. The post holder must embrace change and be committed to best practice.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience of dealing with the public either on the telephone or face-to-face
  • Current or recent experience of an office environment

Desirable criteria

  • Experience in a health and/or social care environment
  • Familiar with CWS and WPAS or other networked IT systems
  • Previous physiotherapy administrative role
  • Management of waiting lists

Education And Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Good general education to GCSE or equivalent
  • Knowledge of patient administration and other related systems, acquired through experience and qualification at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Skilled use of computerised database
  • IT skills including the use of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Office and Outlook

Desirable criteria

  • ECDL
