This exciting new senior support worker role will work across the wards at Southmead Hospital.

Main duties of the job
- Providing physiotherapy assessments, exercise plans and support patients from admission to discharge
- A full training and in service training program is available for the successful candidate.
- The working pattern is predominantly Monday-Friday but does include a weekend commitment of one weekend day a month with time back in the week which is rostered.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
To be responsible for own caseload following referral from a Physiotherapist , adhering to specified therapeutic programs and protocols, monitoring patient progress and adapting treatment as necessary. Supporting discharge planning for patients including completion of discharge paperwork. Supporting other support workers to manage their caseloads, support support worker training and working with undergraduate students out on placement.

Education/Training/Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Evidence of higher level apprenticeship, foundation degree or equivalent clinical experience
- Evidence of a continued desire to learn and develop self.
Work experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of healthcare environment
Desirable criteria
- Experience working as therapy support worker
- Experience working with a relevant patient group
Qualities/Special Circumstances
Essential criteria
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience of working in high pressured environments
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of role and relevant skills required
