About The Role
We are working in partnership with the Local Authority based in the Linden Centre on an exciting pilot programme based in Telford. The Alternative Provision Specialist Task Force (APST) is a pioneering national pilot scheme aimed at improving the life chances of the most vulnerable and at-risk young people who face the risk of exclusion, criminal exploitation, and gang affiliation.
As a qualified counsellor, you will be expected to effectively manage a caseload of school pupils providing targeted and planned counselling/mental health support and health and wellbeing intervention that is specific, measurable, agreed, realistic and timely. Working in partnership with other members of the AP Specialist Taskforce Pilot team you’ll maintain regular contact with the parents/carers and families of students to develop positive relationships and to share information with regards to student engagement progress and the impact. This role will require people to work from the Liden Centre and see pupils in their school setting, a willingness to travel ideally with your own vehicle is essential. In addition to working within a multidisciplinary team you will get additional support, clinical supervision and training from Place2Be.
We are looking for 2 people working 2 or 3 days a week or one person working across all five days.
