• Station Quarter Regeneration – Play a key role in one of the most significant urban regeneration projects in the East of England
• Strategic Development – Handle complex planning applications and development agreements that shape sustainable growth
• Section 106 Expertise – Negotiate and draft agreements that deliver essential infrastructure and community benefits
• Planning Committee Advocacy – Opportunities to influence decision-making
• Infrastructure Delivery – Work on highways and transport projects that connect communities and enable economic growth

What You'll Do

• Manage a diverse caseload of planning and highways matters
• Draft and negotiate Section 106 agreements and planning obligations
• Attend Planning Committee meetings on a rota basis
• Advise on complex development proposals, including major regeneration schemes
• Handle planning appeals, enforcement matters, and judicial review challenges
• Work on highways agreements, adoption processes, and transport infrastructure projects
• Collaborate with planning officers, developers, and external stakeholders on major projects
• Support the delivery of the Council's growth agenda through robust legal frameworks

What We're Looking For

• Qualified Solicitor with current practicing certificate, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEx
• Strong planning law experience with knowledge of development processes
• Experience with Section 106 agreements and planning obligations
• Understanding of highways law and infrastructure delivery
• Confident communication skills for committee presentations and stakeholder engagement
• Ability to manage complex, multi-party negotiations
• Interest in urban development and regeneration projects
• Commercial awareness and understanding of development economics
