Planning Manager - Solar & BESS
Leap29 are searching for a Planning Manager to join our Development team, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to large, complex renewable energy projects. This permanent position allows the chosen candidate to engage in a wide range of projects, leveraging skills acquired through formal training, work experience, and personal interest.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leading planning and consents for Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects
• Managing planning projects from start to finish, including coordination with clients, project stakeholders, and team members
• Reviewing consultant planning reports and documentation
• Overseeing project management elements such as budgets, stakeholder engagement, deliverables, and design aspects
• Acting as the primary client contact to ensure efficient project progress
• Ensuring planning compliance throughout the development lifecycle and construction phases
• Mentoring and supporting junior staff
• Conducting background research, desk studies, field visits, and preparing planning assessments, reports, and inputs for projects
• Liaising with authorities and stakeholders relevant to planning processes
Qualifications and Requirements:
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience
• At least five years’ experience, ideally within a planning consultancy or the planning department of a renewable energy company
• Strong report-writing skills
• A full, clean driving license
