Title: Operations/Plant Manager

As an Operations/Plant Manager you are required to ensure organizational effectiveness by effectively leading our manufacturing site in its entirety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plant Operations Management Oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
- Develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity.
- Ensure the plant operates at the highest level of efficiency and maintains output quality standards.
- Production Management Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customer expectations.
- Increase production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs.
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
- Team Leadership Lead, manage, and develop plant staff, ensuring effective utilization of the team's skills and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Motivate, support, and provide guidance to the production team.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and development of plant staff.
- Quality and Safety Compliance Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Enforce and maintain safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Implement quality control processes to ensure the highest quality of products and services.
- Budget and Resource Management Prepare, manage, and oversee the plant budget.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators and financial metrics.
- Optimize resource allocation and ensure cost-effective operations.
- Continuous Improvement Develop and implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance plant efficiency and productivity.
- Analyse production data and identify areas for improvement.
- Encourage and implement best practices and innovative solutions.
- Maintenance and Repairs Oversee the maintenance and repair of plant machinery and equipment to ensure efficient operations.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Other Key Accountabilities
- Strategic Planning Participate in the development of the plant’s long-term strategic goals.
- Align plant operations with overall business objectives.
- Stakeholder Communication Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and corporate management.
- Provide regular reports on plant performance and progress towards goals.
- Technology Integration Oversee the implementation of new technologies and equipment in the plant.
- Ensure staff are trained on new systems and technologies to enhance productivity and safety.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Significant proven work experience as a Plant Manager or in a similar managerial role.
- Software Requirements: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP experience.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of production management, quality control, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in using manufacturing software and tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certified in 6 Lean Sigma
