The team

You’ll join our Hosting & Infrastructure function, working across Nublue hosting platforms and CTI’s internal systems. We support a mix of cloud-native environments, managed infrastructure, and continuous improvement projects. The team operates with a strong focus on uptime, performance, and automation — with close links to client support, delivery teams, and the wider tech group.

This is a hands-on role with a strong Azure focus, but we’ll also draw on your broader platform and infrastructure experience.

What you’ll be doing

As a Platform Engineer, you’ll take ownership of the infrastructure that powers our client-facing platforms and internal systems — with a focus on Azure, automation, and reliability. You’ll work across cloud environments, hosting tools, and monitoring systems to ensure uptime, scalability, and performance.

⚙️ Maintaining and optimising cloud infrastructure in Azure (and some AWS)

🔧 Automating provisioning, deployment and patching using Terraform, PowerShell, or scripting

🌐 Managing web hosting environments including Linux servers and Plesk

🛡 Supporting platform security, backup processes, and access control

🚨 Responding to incidents, service alerts and client escalations — including 24/7 rota participation

📊 Monitoring system performance and identifying areas for improvement

📚 Creating and maintaining platform documentation and runbooks

🤝 Collaborating with support, delivery, and engineering teams to improve platform stability and speed

What you need to be successful

• Experience in a technical infrastructure, platform or hosting support role
• Hands-on experience with Azure, and ideally some exposure to AWS
• Good knowledge of Linux, Plesk, and common hosting stack elements (DNS, SSL, web/email services)
• Comfort working across infrastructure-as-code, scripting, and deployment automation
• Strong communication skills – you're confident engaging with both technical and non-technical users
• Experience with tools like Cloudflare, Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence), and monitoring systems
• A proactive mindset — you enjoy solving problems, documenting solutions, and improving systems
• Bonus: knowledge of networking principles, Microsoft 365, or backup/DR solutions
