Platform Engineer (GCP)

Hybrid London (2–3 days/week)

Up to £75,000 + Benefits

We’re hiring a Platform Engineer for one of the UK’s most loved fintechs — a bank built on modern technology, real ownership, and a strong engineering culture. This team powers every product, transaction, and customer experience the company delivers. If you enjoy solving infrastructure challenges, automating everything you can, and supporting engineers at scale, this is a brilliant opportunity.

What you’ll do:

Manage and optimise AWS environments across multiple accounts
Maintain and improve Kubernetes clusters running most of the organisation’s applications
Support secrets management and cert generation via HashiCorp Vault
Improve CI/CD workflows using tools like Terraform, ArgoCD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions
Develop tooling (Go preferred, but any strong coding background is fine)
Enhance observability (Prometheus, Splunk, Honeycomb) and ensure platform reliability
Collaborate closely with engineers, contributing to a culture of shared ownership and continuous improvement

What we’re looking for:

Solid experience in AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code
Strong understanding of modern DevOps and platform engineering practices
Proficiency in at least one programming language (Go, Python, etc.)
Comfortable operating and troubleshooting production systems at scale
Excellent communication skills and developer empathy
Experience with incident management, agile delivery, and data-driven decision-making

Nice to have:

Experience building mobile or serverless (Lambda) CI/CD pipelines
Fintech or other regulated industry experience
Strong observability-as-code expertise
