What you'll do
As our Platform Engineer, you'll be joining our team to manage and deliver Kafka, databases and other stateful workloads to engineers.
Day to day, you'll be:
- Making changes to the platform, adding new features and ensuring defects are resolved in a timely manner
- Creating solutions that enhance the developer experience and introducing new features through a self-service platform rooted in Kubernetes
- Designing and implementing solutions to increase the stability, resilience and security of our stateful platform
- Developing clean, elegant, and reusable code that is well tested and easy to maintain and extend
The skills you'll need
To thrive as a Platform Engineer at NatWest Boxed, you'll need to be able to design and develop our internal stateful developer platform.
You’ll also need:
- Operational experience with distributed systems
- Experience developing with relational databases (Postgres/MySQL)
- Experience delivering cloud infrastructure with Terraform
- Good knowledge of Go
- Experience managing stateful workloads ideally in Kubernetes
- Knowledge and experience using a commercial cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
