The Role
Linklaters are embarking upon an ambitious transformational change programme to re-imagine the way that our Business Teams work with the practice to deliver an exceptional client experience. Operating model changes within Technology & Data will impact how we deliver change and a PMO analyst is required while we develop new capabilities in the function and embed permanent change in the PMO team.
As a key member of our Portfolio PMO team, the PMO Analyst will be responsible for supporting the PMO through the operating model transition. Providing cover for the PMO Manager on existing portfolio activities and gradually increasing support for new processes and capabilities.
Key Areas Of Responsibility
- Monitor portfolio spend, working with the PMs and Finance team to understand spend to date and forecast; create reports and facilitate issue resolution as required.
- Monitor and review project performance through status report reviews and interactions with project managers.
- Work with the PMO Co-ordinator to maintain quality standards across the portfolio, guide PMs on best practice and escalate where interventions may be required.
- Advise Project Managers on life-cycle process including timing of stage-gates and approach to change requests, exception reports and other points of escalation.
- Working with the PMO Manager, contribute to the evolution and running of new processes as they are established, for instance demand triage.
- Support the onboarding of new joiners to the portfolio.
- Perform other ad-hoc analysis as required, for example associated with delivery performance.
In addition, the role-holder will be expected to actively participate in our growing community of PMO professionals and engage with the broader development of our PMO capabilities in the firm.
About You
- A minimum of four years’ experience working in a portfolio management office or related programme role, ideally with experience in waterfall and agile delivery environments
- Experience of product operating models or similar.
- Confident with numbers, the analysis of data and financial management information.
- Ability to assure and evolve information management.
- Ability to review and continuously improve PMO services & processes
- A recognised PMO or project management qualification (e.g. P3O certification, PRINCE 2 Practitioner or APM equivalent).
- Experience in a professional services environment is preferred.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience using dedicated project or task management tools.
- A proactive and action-oriented approach, driving progress via self and others.
- Strong communication skills; ability to clearly articulate key points.
- Highly organised; able to manage own workload and prioritise tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and diligence to see tasks through.
- Ability to build good relationships and work with others at all levels.
- An inclusive style, aware of the needs of, and supportive of, team members.
