About the Role

We're seeking a talented Producer Editor, with experience and passion in the Arts and Art History, who seamlessly blends technical expertise with creative storytelling vision. In this dynamic role, you'll be joining a team of experts and creatives to build our multimedia Arts podcast, transforming raw conversations into compelling narratives that captivate audiences across both audio and video platforms.

You'll work closely with our hosts and production team to craft stories that will sound engaging and unmissable. From managing technical setups to making creative editorial decisions that enhance the narrative flow, you'll work across the entire production pipeline.

What You'll Do

Technical Production:

• Be across all audio and visual equipment set up, postproduction and delivery
• Edit video content with attention to visual storytelling, pacing, and composition
• Troubleshoot technical issues during live recordings and post-production
• Create engaging video thumbnails, graphics, and visual elements

Editorial Storytelling:

• Collaborate with hosts to develop episode and series concepts
• Shape ideas into compelling narratives, potential episodes and series flow
• Be across research, developing storylines, formatting whole programmes and writing scripts
• Be across the record identifying key moments and identifying edit points
• Work with presenters and talent to produce the best performances and engaging conversations
• Identify and create compelling video clips and highlights for social media distribution

Content Development:

• Research guests and topics to inform pre-production planning
• Create detailed episode rundowns and show notes
• Suggest creative elements, music, and sound design to enhance storytelling
• Ensure content aligns with brand voice and audience expectations

What We're Looking For

Technical Excellence:

• 3+ years expertise in audio and visual podcast production
• Arts, Art History or History experience is essential
• Strong understanding of audio engineering principles, mixing, and mastering
• Proficiency in video editing, colour correction, and motion graphics
• Knowledge of lighting, camera operation, and video production techniques
• Experience with podcast and video content delivery requirements across platforms
• Knowledge of various microphones, cameras, preamps, and recording equipment

Editorial Vision:

• Proven track record of long-form content creation in both audio and video
• Exceptional storytelling instincts across multimedia formats
• Ability to identify compelling visual and audio moments and craft them into engaging content
• Experience working with interview-based or conversational content for multiple platforms
• Strong sense of pacing, timing, and visual storytelling techniques
• Understanding of platform-specific content optimisation (YouTube, social media, audio platforms)

• Passion for podcasting and audio storytelling

Bonus Points

• Background in journalism, radio, television, or documentary production
• Experience with podcast and YouTube analytics and audience development
• Knowledge of podcast distribution platforms, YouTube optimisation, and RSS management
• Motion graphics and animation skills (After Effects, etc.)
• Music production or sound design experience
• Live streaming and broadcast experience
