About The Role
LGBT Foundation is an impactful, vibrant charity with a wide portfolio of well-established services and rapidly developing new initiatives aimed at meeting the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a part time Policy Admin Officer. The Policy Admin Officer will be responsible for the operational, day-to-day oversight and facilitation of the Greater Manchester LGBTQ+ Equality Panel, as well as ad hoc administrative work to support the wider policy and research team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supporting facilitation of monthly LGBTQ+ Equality Panel meetings;
- Completing monthly admin tasks, such as compiling minutes, agendas and relevant papers;
- Supporting with attendance at regular meetings about the work of the panel;
- Representation of the Panel at internal and external events (including in-person);
- Liaising with Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) on matters involving the panel;
- Support with recruitment of new Panel members.
We are taking positive action to encourage applications from people of colour (PoC) and other racially minoritised communities, trans*, non-binary, and/or older people (aged 50+), to improve the representation of colleagues from these communities in our staff team.
- Trans is an umbrella & inclusive term used to describe people whose gender identity differs in some way from that which they were assigned at birth; including non-binary people, cross-dressers, and those who partially or incompletely identify with their sex assigned at birth.
Role Accountabilities
- Provide administrative support for the day-to-day functions of the Greater Manchester LGBTQ+ Equality Panel.
- Liaising with a variety of internal and external partners, including policy makers, external service leads and cross panel facilitators and members.
- Managing the Greater Manchester LGBTQ+ Equality Panel inbox.
Work collaboratively with the volunteer programme to recruit, induct, train and retain Greater Manchester LGBTQ+ Equality Panel volunteers.
