If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join the Policy & Partnership Team which is part of the Policy, Partnerships and Corporate Planning Service in Kirklees Council.
About The Role And Team
As a Policy & Partnership Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Council’s political and executive officers in understanding the local, regional and national risks as well as developing options that help the Council achieve its objectives. Based in the corporate centre, the Team works closely with elected members and senior officers to support the development, decision-making and delivery of priorities, processes and standards that align with the Council’s shared outcomes.
The Team’s Role Involves
- Conducting research, strategic analysis, insight and horizon scanning to inform intelligence-led decision-making.
- Supporting cross-directorate priorities and respond effectively and timely to emerging issues.
- Building relationships with local regional and national stakeholders to help support delivering Kirklees priorities.
- Leading policy and partnership development, consultation and implementation.
- Producing high-quality reports, presentations, and guides to guide the Council’s strategic direction.
- Supporting events, meetings and forums to drive progress on agreed priorities
About You
We are seeking a committed and flexible individual who has a strong background in working collaboratively with others in a strategic environment. To be successful in this role, you will need to be proactive, able to work at pace, good at building relationships and driven by ‘getting things done’. You’ll also need to be comfortable working in a political environment and managing a diverse and challenging workload.
