Port Engineer required for a major Offshore Wind Developer based in The United Kingdom

Responsibilities

  • Assess port infrastructure and its suitability for the company's offshore wind projects.
  • Identify and sense check needs for port upgrading works such as quay reinforcement works, seabed strengthening for jack-up vessel and enhancement of ground bearing capacities.
  • Define, develop and review port logistics concepts and contracts.
  • Review technical as well as contractual documents related to the tendering and selection process of marshalling ports.
  • Support preparations of Port Design / Upgrade Scope of works.

Requirements

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent in the field of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related areas.
    Professional experience in the field of civil/structural engineering, including.
  • Structural analysis of quays for different load combinations, including checks of bending moments, anchor forces, and deformations.
  • Bearing capacity calculations.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Interest in project management and its interface to engineering.
  • Ability to balance technical and commercial interests and a sound understanding of business concepts.
  • Use of AutoCAD or equivalent software.
