Portfolio Manager - L / S Equity (Industrials)

Our client, a leading global hedge fund, is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Portfolio Manager to launch a new Long/Short Equities pod with a dedicated focus on the Industrials sector. This is a high-impact opportunity to build and lead your own team within a world-class multi-manager platform, backed by significant infrastructure, risk management, and capital resources

You will have full discretion over portfolio strategy and construction, operating within a disciplined and performance driven environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and manage a market-neutral L/S Equities portfolio with a core focus on Industrials (e.g., Capital Goods, Transportation, Aerospace & Defense, Machinery, etc.)
• Generate and execute alpha-driven investment ideas through deep fundamental research and catalyst identification
• Manage gross and net exposure within platform-defined risk limits, in coordination with centralized risk and compliance teams
• Recruit and lead a team of analysts or associates to support the investment process
• Engage regularly with internal research, risk, and trading infrastructure teams to optimize execution and data utilization

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• 7+ years of experience in equities investing, with at least 3+ years as a PM or senior analyst with track record of generating alpha in Industrials (Strong Sharpe and cash PnL)
• Senior Traders from the sell side will also be considered
• Prior experience running a book with risk autonomy at a hedge fund, family office, or proprietary trading group
• Strong investment philosophy, discipline around risk, and a proven, repeatable process
• Ability to source and synthesize complex information independently and quickly
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to scale a high-performing team
• Demonstrable passion for industrials and deep sector knowledge across multiple sub-verticals
