Key Responsibilities
- Analyse GB power markets and National Grid balancing actions
- Develop, refine, and profitably execute trading strategies
- Manage and organise trading operations in the GB power market and optimise existing assets as required
- Build and maintain customer and stakeholder relationships
- Identify and harness value creation opportunities within UK balancing services
- Collaborate with traders and developers on the design and implementation of automatic forecasting and trading tools
- Support the business development team in demand-side management and optimisation of flexible assets
Skills / Experience required
- Degree qualified in a STEM or economics-related subject
- Proficient in Excel and/or experienced with programming languages (e.g. Python) for analysing large data sets
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with keen attention to detail
- Commercially focused with effective, accountable problem-solving abilities
- Minimum 5 years experience in a UK power trading environment
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong Leadership skills
- Legally authorised to work in the UK permanently
