Successful candidates will join our PR & Content department as an intern, which is a union of digital PR specialists and talented copywriters. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team where you can develop your skills as a multi-skilled marketer, mastering SEO techniques, content strategy, and digital PR.

Within this close-knit team, you’ll work on a range of client campaigns spanning many industries, delivering exceptional results within allocated hours per client. You'll learn how to create engaging onsite content that improves SEO performance and how to develop and execute effective link building strategies via Digital PR.

Responsibilities

Over the course of the internship, you will learn how to:

• Create compelling and engaging content for a variety of channels, including press releases, blog posts, thought leadership articles, and website content.
• Conduct keyword research and SEO optimise website content accordingly.
• Develop content strategies for both onsite and offsite purposes, bringing new ideas and concepts to the table.
• Build media lists, ensuring alignment with the press release topic or client campaign.
• Distribute press releases and conduct thorough follow-ups.
• Proactively pitch stories and press releases to relevant media contacts.
• Create yearly calendars, such as awareness days, key national events and awards.
• Monitor media coverage, track metrics, and provide regular reports on the impact of our communications efforts.
• Create Google Alerts for relevant keywords based on the client’s industry and stay updated on mentions, trends, and competitor activity that may inform ongoing PR efforts. 
• Monitor daily news and media for industry news, trending topics, and relevant developments. 
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets to secure future coverage.
• Provide constructive feedback on work created by peers.

Internship Details

• Paid Internship: The internship will be remunerated at the London Living Wage.
• Duration: The internship will last for four months.
• Potential for Full-Time Employment: Exceptional interns may have the opportunity to join Go Up as full-time employees after the internship. Many of our senior team members started as interns.

Desired Skills & Requirements

We’re looking for someone who can transform the boring into the brilliant, is a master researcher, can adapt their tone, and has a keen eye for weeding out grammar and spelling mistakes. Attention to detail is an absolute must.

As this is an internship, previous work experience in PR or content is a bonus, but not a requirement. However, we are looking for candidates who possess the following qualities:

• Willingness to learn and adapt.
• Proven ability to write effectively with minimal editing required.
• A strong understanding of the current news agenda and trending topics, and an ability to identify relevant opportunities.
• Proficiency in working alongside AI tools.
• Strong interest in marketing and PR.
• Excellent communication skills to engage and persuade journalists.
• Ability to pitch creative ideas effectively to colleagues, clients, and journalists.
• Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to thrive under pressure.

Location

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK and able to work from our office in London every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
