Practice Development Health Visitor Flying Start Wrexham.
An exciting opportunity has become available for the post of Community Practice Development Health Visitor within East IHC, 7.5 hours per week.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The Post Holder will be responsible for ensuring that staff within the Health Visiting service provide a high quality service to children and their families. This will be achieved through developing clinical practice by ensuring staff and students are equipped and supported with the skills to perform their role in line with the most recent evidence based practice, and National drivers. The role includes the planning and organisation of ongoing Healthy Child Wales Programme training and other training needs within the service, leading on service improvement, and conducting Supportive Practice Reviews with staff. Liaison with Higher Education Institutes will be essential for the post holder to lead on and implement the NMC Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment.
To be eligible, the applicant must be working as a current Band 6 SCPHN Health Visitor

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Post Registration Degree or post Registration Diploma in Specialist Community Public health nursing (SCPHN) or equivalent in relevant discipline to the vacancy i.e. Health Visiting or School Nursing
- Registered on relevant part of NMC register e.g Health Visiting
- Nurse Prescribing Qualification or to be achieved within 12 months of appointment
- Continued professional development
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of post graduate development/ Research Post graduate teaching qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Skilled practitioner embracing clinical governance and effectiveness
- Significant experience post qualifying as SCPHN
Desirable criteria
- Experience in practice development
