Job Summary
- To maintain primary responsibility for ensuring the Division provides a progressive learning environment for all grades of nursing staff. The post holder will support and coordinate the development of Registered Nurses; Health Care Assistants and both pre- and post-registration nursing students by co-ordinating educational activities and assessments of learning within the department.
- To be involved in the Corporate agenda participating in practice and nursing development within their Division and liaising with the Nursing Development managers as appropriate.
- The post holder will actively promote and contribute to inter-professional learning activities across the Division and Trust wide and be an effective role model for best practice nursing.
- The post holder will provide educational and clinical support for the nurses in the clinical area for 80% of their working time.
- To demonstrate effective communication and customer care skills with patients and their relatives/carers, thereby acting as a positive role model for nurses and other staff.
Please note: Some roles may require weekend shifts at multiple sites.
- To ensure support is provided to newly qualified registered nurses and internationally educated Nurses
- To provide them with a structured pathway ensuring professional standards are met
- To conduct teaching sessions via tailored approach classroom sessions and 1:1 at the bedside
- To allocate appropriate practice assessors and supervisors
- To provide clinical supervision required for signing off professional skills
- To update and maintain lists of competency for each staff
- To allocate staff trainings and university courses
- To balance clinical supervision, managerial and admin duties within structured time frames
