Pricing Manager

Miryco Consultants are working with a leading general insurance firm who are looking to expand their pricing team in Manchester.

You will play a key role in shaping the development of the team as it continues to grow, acting as a leader both in terms of setting team culture and driving forward innovative strategies.

The Role

As an Pricing Manager, you will lead a team of analysts and work closely with senior stakeholders to develop and optimize pricing models that balance profitability, competitiveness, and customer outcomes. You’ll leverage cutting-edge analytics, machine learning techniques, and actuarial methodologies to influence pricing decisions across multiple product lines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and enhancement of pricing models using statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Analyse large data sets to derive insights and improve pricing strategies.
• Work closely with underwriting, actuarial, and data science teams to refine risk assessments.
• Monitor market trends and competitor pricing to ensure we maintain a competitive edge.
• Present insights and recommendations to senior management, influencing strategic decisions.
• Support the continuous improvement of pricing tools, processes, and governance.
• Mentor and develop a team of pricing analysts.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience in insurance pricing, ideally within a general insurance setting.
• In-depth knowledge of motor insurance.
• Understanding of price optimisation with regards to LTV modelling, market modelling, add-on propensity, etc.
• Proficiency in pricing tools and techniques, such as Emblem, Radar, SAS, Python, or R.
• Knowledge of actuarial methodologies and predictive modelling.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Leadership experience with a passion for mentoring and developing talent.

Salary: Up to £85,000, plus bonus.
