Job Title: PRINCE2 Project Manager
Job Summary:
The PRINCE2 Project Manager Delivery Consultant will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of projects using the PRINCE2 methodology. This role involves working closely with clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget, while adhering to the highest quality standards. The consultant will guide teams through all stages of the project lifecycle, from initiation to project closure, ensuring all PRINCE2 processes and principles are followed.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Delivery:
- Lead end-to-end project management and delivery using PRINCE2 methodology.
- Manage project scope, timelines, quality, and budget, ensuring successful completion within agreed parameters.
- Develop, maintain, and manage comprehensive project plans, including scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Ensure clear project documentation, such as the project initiation document (PID), business case, and risk logs, are maintained and updated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular project reviews and checkpoints, ensuring compliance with PRINCE2 principles.
- Track and report project progress against milestones, highlighting risks, issues, and variances to stakeholders and ensuring timely resolution.
Client Engagement:
- Act as the primary point of contact between the client and the internal project team.
- Engage with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
- Provide expert advice on applying PRINCE2 principles and processes to ensure successful delivery.
- Manage client expectations, providing regular updates on project progress, risks, and deliverables.
- Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions, ensuring feedback is captured for future improvements.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals.
- Motivate and guide team members, managing any performance issues and ensuring team cohesion.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across departments, including IT, finance, and business units, to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Manage and support project resources, including third-party suppliers, contractors, and consultants.
Risk and Issue Management:
- Identify, assess, and manage risks and issues using PRINCE2 risk management strategies.
- Ensure the risk and issue logs are maintained, updated, and regularly reviewed.
- Implement appropriate mitigation plans to address potential risks and issues, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines and deliverables.
- Escalate risks and issues to senior management as needed, providing recommended solutions.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards and are aligned with the project scope.
- Implement and monitor PRINCE2 quality management strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure project outcomes meet or exceed expectations.
Change Management:
- Manage and control project changes by applying PRINCE2 change control processes.
- Ensure any changes to scope, timeline, or budget are documented, reviewed, and approved by relevant stakeholders.
- Communicate the impact of changes to the project team and ensure that all changes are effectively integrated into the project plan.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in project management, business, IT, or related field.
- PRINCE2 Practitioner certification (required).
- Additional certifications such as PMP, Agile, or ITIL are advantageous.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on PRINCE2 methodology.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and scope using PRINCE2 principles.
- Experience working in consulting or client-facing roles is highly desirable.
- Experience managing complex projects across various sectors, such as IT, finance, construction, or public services.
