Infineon’s System Architecture team identify forward looking technology, product feature and architecture requirements to ensure market readiness to address future customer ecosystem needs. You will be joining a team that has successfully driven many industry standards which have enabled continued High-Performance Compute processor performance gains. You will focus on Power Management products powering AI GPU / CPU / ASIC in Datacenter AI and Server, Telecom Networking, High End Consumer and Autonomous Drive systems.
The Principal System Architect is on a Technical Ladder career path which allows you to focus deeply on technologies and intellectual property creation. The System Architect is a key member of our creative process, responsible for crafting new system concepts and solutions through direct interface with innovative customers. You will guide interdisciplinary technology and product development teams by establishing concept, technology and product requirements. These teams include MOSFET, GaN, packaging including die stacking, Module, Control and Power IC development.
We are looking to strengthen our Warwick, Rhode Island or Andover, Massachusetts development team locations. We offer work-from-home options and the position requires approximately 10-20% travel to key customers and internal development locations.
In your new role you will:
- Engage lead customers to understand and describe system architecture challenges, establish application requirements and feature sets for new product definitions, and help define functional blocks or control systems used in new products. Once productized, you will provide expert application level support to enable design-in activities
- Define, simulate and prototype system concepts including magnetic designs and thermal management while validating electrical projections and physical stability
- Identify, evaluate and lead technology innovation ideas needed to enable future products. Technologies can include integrated circuit IP, MOSFET and GaN technologies, packaging and software needs
- Engage with standardization authorities worldwide to provide requirements for our offerings, and with Universities in research efforts
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or similar field of studies with at least 10 years of power related experience
- Knowledge in power conversion topologies, power device, magnetics and control loop design
- Experience in MOSFET, Gate Drivers and their interaction, and digital products preferred
- Good understanding of semiconductor physics relationship to MOSFET and GaN parameters and figure of merits
- Good understanding of functional safety concepts and automotive system applications is a plus
- Proficiency in circuit simulation, schematic entry, and PCB layout tools
- Oral and written English language proficiency is a must

Wage range that the company expects to pay for a qualified candidate:
Warwick, RI & Andover, MA
Minimum of $150,000 base salary per year
Maximum of $206,250 base salary per year
In addition, all employees will be eligible to participate in an incentive plan.
