We have a fantastic opportunity for an expert in Control Systems Engineering to lead our Control team in Edinburgh.
This brand new role is pivotal to the continued development and delivery of all control aspects of our electromechanical hardware devices.

You'll Spend Your Time
- Delivering systems architecture design and integrating multiple software and hardware components, including sophisticated conceptual design based on functional and non-functional requirements
- Undertaking scientific research and data acquisition to inform optimal design pathways
- Working with the technical and design leadership to define optimal design solutions, scoping and designing systems for monitoring and control
- Designing and implementing advanced control algorithms for complex systems
- Integrating systems, including custom hardware and commercial off-the-shelf equipment
- Undertaking laboratory-based testing of systems relating to simulations and hardware and field-testing prototypes
- Working on collaboration projects with partners, including supply chain, OEM, and universities
- Effectively managing an existing team of Control Design & Integration Engineers
The Key Experience We're Looking For
- 10+ years of proven experience in the application of control systems design
- Previous experience developing control systems for real-time environments/ control software for Electronic Control Units (ECUs)
- Advanced Matlab and Simulink modelling skills - electrical system, control system, DSP system
- Experience with operating, database, industrial communications systems design and development
- Software Development / Coding experience, software versioning/git
- Software unit and integration testing
- A working understanding of agile practices in development
- Demonstrable experience of being a team player who can reliably own a team’s outcomes
The Following Would Be Advantageous
- Previous management experience, providing leadership to a multidisciplinary team
