We are now searching for our
Principal Design Engineer to join us at our site in
Peterborough:
Job Purpose
Lead the design and continuous improvement of
food processing machinery, ensuring compliance, technical excellence, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop the full range of food process equipment
- Generate drawings, calculations, specifications, and parts lists
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sales, and support teams
- Support sales and customer service as a technical expert
- Identify opportunities for product improvements and cost efficiencies
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical or Design Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in designing food processing or similar machinery
- Knowledge of materials, hygiene standards, and regulations
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo)
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
- Experience leading projects or teams is a plus.
