Following an exciting year of growth, including establishing a presence in Bristol, we are seeking an entrepreneurially minded Principal Hydrogeologist/Technical Director to join us at any of our UK offices in Bristol, Shrewsbury, Derby, Richmond, and Stirling.

What The Role Involves
As Principal Hydrogeologist, you will lead and manage a collaborative team, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include:
Providing expert advice on groundwater management, including abstraction licensing, pollution control, and monitoring
Ensuring clients can navigate complex regulatory frameworks while sustainably optimising water resources
Undertaking comprehensive hydrogeological assessments, including water resource, impact, and risk assessments
Keeping up to date with developments in hydrogeology and related fields, sharing knowledge across the team
Managing a portfolio of projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards
Developing and maintaining strong client relationships, identifying business opportunities, and tailoring services to meet evolving needs
Qualifications And Experience
We are looking for a candidate with:
A postgraduate degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, or a related discipline, with at least 8 years’ experience
Chartered status with a relevant professional body (e.g., Geological Society, CIWEM)
Excellent technical knowledge of hydrogeology, including groundwater resource assessments, impact assessments, and risk assessments
Strong project management skills, with experience managing projects from start to finish
Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical audiences
Commercial awareness, with experience identifying and developing business opportunities

Competitive salary of £50,000+, depending on experience
Permanent, full-time contract (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
