An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated Band 8A Nuclear Medicine Clinical Scientist to join our friendly and dedicated team at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. The postholder will take a leading role in the management and organisation of radiation safety compliance for the department. This is an excellent opportunity to develop clinical and management skills in a challenging but rewarding job.

The Nuclear Medicine Department at Barts Health carries out in excess of 10000 imaging investigations at three sites on five gamma cameras and two PET CT cameras. It also offers a full suite of in-vitro tests and provides a wide range of nuclear medicine therapy services. We are committed to providing our patients with outstanding care and seek a clinical scientist who shares this vision.

The postholder will participate in and assist with the management of provision of high standard scientific and technical service to Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT, ensuring that all activities are carried out within a quality framework and meet regulatory requirements. They will take a major role in ensuring compliance with radiation safety legislation and guidance, and will also be expected to assist with the unsealed radionuclide therapy service, carry out quality assurance measurements on imaging and other radiation detecting equipment and assist in commissioning of major imaging equipment
