About Skyscanner
Everyone loves travelling, but planning it? Not so much. That’s why we’ve spent 20 years building tools that turn travel-planning chaos into a breeze. Today, around 100 million travellers count on us every month to skip the whole “47 browser tabs open” phase and find flights, cars, and hotels quickly and easily.
Joining Skyscanner means becoming part of a global brand that's striving to become the planet’s go-to travel hack accessible for all. Our vision? To be the world’s number one travel ally. (Ambitious? Yes, but, hey, that’s what got us here.)
Now, we’re looking for a
Principal Product Manager – AI to shape the future of how we deliver smarter, faster, AI-powered travel experiences for millions of users.
About The Role
(Hybrid)
This is a rare opportunity for a deeply technical, hands-on product leader to help drive one of the most exciting transformations in travel. You’ll work across the company to embed artificial intelligence — particularly generative AI — into our products, processes, and ways of thinking.
You’ll operate at the cutting edge of AI innovation and partner closely with engineers, data scientists and designers to build and scale powerful AI features. You’ll need strong technical fluency, exceptional product judgment, and the ability to translate rapidly evolving AI capabilities into impactful user experiences.
What you’ll be doing
- Defining AI strategy & execution: You’ll craft and deliver a vision and roadmap for AI that drives real value for travellers and the business — from experiments to scaled rollouts.
- Driving technical product delivery: You’ll shape requirements, influence decisions around models and data, and guide development of robust, scalable AI features.
- Leading innovation at pace: You’ll stay on top of GenAI breakthroughs, prototype fast, and distinguish what’s genuinely useful from the hype.
- Partnering cross-functionally: You’ll align product, engineering, design and data science, while ensuring ethical, human-centred AI principles are upheld.
- Measuring what matters: You’ll define success metrics for AI features and iterate using data, user feedback and model performance signals.
- Acting as a trusted voice: You’ll represent Skyscanner’s AI direction internally and externally — bringing substance, clarity, and credibility to the conversation.
About You
- AI product leadership experience: You’ve shipped real AI-powered products, ideally at consumer scale — and you understand the nuances between experimentation and production.
- Technically fluent in GenAI: You understand LLMs, embeddings, RAG, prompt engineering, and can credibly partner with engineers and data scientists.
- Deeply curious and hands-on: You experiment with new models, tools, and techniques — and love turning them into validated product opportunities.
- Sharp product thinker: You know how to spot product-market fit, simplify complex capabilities into usable features, and iterate quickly with purpose.
- Collaborative by default: You move fluidly across disciplines, align stakeholders, and drive outcomes without needing authority.
- Responsible and thoughtful: You bring a strong ethical lens to AI, with a clear view on fairness, transparency, and responsible deployment.
Preferred Skills
- Multi-modal experience: You’ve worked on AI involving text, speech, images or video.
- Track record at scale: You’ve integrated AI into high-traffic consumer products.
- Personalisation and reinforcement learning: Familiarity with models that adapt to user behaviour.
- Technical education: A background in Computer Science, Data Science or related fields is preferred.
- Relevant domain exposure: Experience in travel, search, recommendations or fintech is a plus.
