We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate
Prison Link Drug Recovery Coordinator to provide vital support to individuals in custody and as they transition back into the community. This role focuses on working “through the gate” — offering continuous, person-centred care from inside the prison to post-release, ensuring a seamless pathway into appropriate drug, alcohol, and recovery services.
You will work closely with prison staff, probation, community treatment providers, and other partner agencies to assess needs, develop tailored support plans, and motivate individuals towards positive change. Your work will involve both one-to-one and group interventions, promoting harm reduction, relapse prevention, and recovery-focused goals.
The successful candidate will bring empathy, resilience, and excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage people from diverse backgrounds and with complex needs. Full Time Hours 37.5 per week
Full Time Salary Range £27,861.26- £32,002.35
Contract 12 month Fixed Term Contract
- Please note Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
About the Role
- Provide bespoke interventions for identified service users, with the aim of engaging people in the most appropriate service for their needs and bringing about positive client outcomes.
- Develop joint working protocols to provide an integrated provision with in-reach substance misuse and probation services and community providers to ensure continuity of care work is seamless encouraging best possible chance of sustaining recovery via joint release planning.
- Contribute to a multi-disciplinary approach by working with local partnerships such as Probation/Shelter as well as within the Local Authority and Public Health sectors to reduce likelihood of homelessness presentations and increased risk of rough sleeping to enhance protective factors.
- Coordinate, contribute & participate towards multi-disciplinary meetings by providing high quality written & verbal reports pertaining to identified families or service users.
- Arrange prison visits to deliver initial screening, assessments, and risk assessments to identify prioritisation of individual need prior to release.
About you
- Excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues
- Experience of supporting and advising service users with complex and/or multiple barriers to success.
- Knowledge of the criminal justice system.
- Knowledge of effective interventions which lead to reduction in drug related harm.
